Stephen Ministry

WHAT IS STEPHEN MINISTRY?

Stephen Ministry is a one-to-one caring ministry that equips lay caregivers—called Stephen Ministers—to provide high-quality, confidential, Christ-centered care to people who are experiencing difficulties in their lives.

Bear one another’s burdens, and in this way, you will fulfill the law of Christ. (Galatians 6:2)

WHAT IS A STEPHEN MINISTER?

• A church member with extensive training in providing Christian care
• A caring Christian who listens, cares, prays, supports, and encourages
• Someone who meets with his or her care receiver weekly for about an hour
